We are very grateful to the Angus Allnatt Charitable Foundation who have agreed to support the Sound World Composing Project. This project aims to give young people from disadvantaged backgrounds the opportunity to get actively involved in creating new music. Practical opportunities and ongoing mentoring will lead to the young musicians having their music performed and recorded by professional performers.

It is with great pleasure that we announce that Armando Iannucci has become the third Sound World patron. The writer/director of numerous award winning films and television shows (including The Death of Stalin, In The Loop, The Thick of It and Veep) and co-creator of Alan Partridge, Armando is also known for his passionate love of music (photo by Matt Crockett).
We are delighted to announce that the Dame Evelyn Glennie will be one of Sound World’s patrons. As well as being the world’s first full-time percussion soloist, Evelyn has also been a consistent and committed advocate of new repertoire, with many major works written especially for her (photo by Philipp Rathmer).
We are hugely grateful to Prof John Pickard (composer and professor of composition at Bristol University) for agreeing to become a Sound World patron. John, who is perhaps best known for a series of major orchestral works and string quartets, has been a consistent supporter of this project and of our sister organisation New Music in the South West. It’s great to have him involved in an official capacity (photo by Katie Truman-Williams).
We are delighted to announce that the Sound World board of trustees will be as follows:
Sadie Harrison (pictured) – Chair
John Stagg – Honorary Treasurer (acting)
Catherine Freda
